To be a movement artist is to practice listening to amplified sensations and experiences in a complicated web system in our body. I am inspired by the space, landscape of the body, collaborators across the mediums to design a shared experience where the imagination and empathy collide through the live performances.
In the creative process, I continue to discover new textures in the movement to speak the narratives, use the negative space to play the level of tension and pay deep attention to the transitions of perspectives.
My practice is ultimately to rediscover humanity and our ability to use limitless imagination. I find that the creative process as well as live performances embrace the fragility that the echo system we are part of and invite us to respond to the changes that are constantly happening around. When we listen to the movements to make a sequence out of them, dance becomes a more powerful vehicle of storytelling and a shared experience.
